Farewell at work and xmas

I just had very good but very busy week. First I had my farewell-party at work and then there was xmas. Both were really nice in their own way and I'd love to write much, much more about them then I will, but I'd running out of time! My flight is on thursday and I still have soooo much to do!

So let's start with the farewell-party at work:
I was really moved that my colleagues made so thoughtful presents. I will miss them. They are really sweet. Among other things they gave me a T-Shirt that ridicules my inability to set commas properly, a 512 MB-CompactFlash-Card (wow - those cost serious money!) and they made an audio-diary that predicts what I'll experience on my trip. If you understand german you can download it here. But I suppose it's only really funny if you know the Bayerischer Rundfunk.

Xmas was really nice as well. It was - as usual - very traditional with a tree and the my parents and my grandma being there and loads and a loads of food. A bit korny, but it's xmas after all and it's a cozy sort of kornyness. I really wonder whether my grandma will stil be alive when I get back. She's 94 now and even though she's still comparatively fit, you never know. Originally I had planned to wait with my trip until she dies. But then again, she might just as well live to 110. So I just have to keep my fingers crossed that I'll see her again.

Well, I would have liked to write more but I have to meet my father in half an hour. Just take a look at the pics and you'll get a feeling for what things were like:
