Last day in Chiang Mai

Today I finally bought my ticket for the trip to Luang Nahmtha in Laos. It was really funny - the last few days I frequently thought: "You have to move on, you have to move on". And then yesterday I sortof realized it doesn't matter the least bit! Even if I wanted to stay here for another month, I could do so. I'm free!

Basically there are only two reasons for not getting bogged down:
1, The longer the dry season lasts the harder it will be to get around in Laos since water-levels are falling and a lot of rivers won't be navigable any longer.
2, If I'm in Cambodia in April the heat will probably kill me since it easily get's to 45 Celsius there during the day.
But since I did buy the ticket to Laos today I'm almost on my way anyhow. It's just good to remind myself once every while that I really can do what I want to.

My "date" yesterday was pretty nice. Though it wasn't a proper date after all. Maybe could have become a date if we had been alone but we'll never know. Cause Chiang Mai being a small place we actually met people in that restaurant whom we had talked to the day before and some time later some friends of Tiffany joined us so that it was more "a night in the bar" then a "date". But actually that's alright cause Tiffany is really nice the way she is and I didn't have this "I have to get laid" feeling. So I found another friend. Today she is gonna take me to a big electronic store since I'm having problems finding a microphone that will work with my MP3-recorder. Maybe I'll get lucky there. I already contacted Archos technical support and they told me I need a preamplifier. Damn. Well, we'll see. Afterwards Tiffany is gonna get a massive tattoo on her back which will take five hours. Well, I won't stick around to see that being done. At the moment I'm burning two CDs for her since she said she really likes new music and I mean, I definitely have enough of it :-).

Today I also managed to complete my Myanmar-chronicles. I added "Dining with monks" and completely revised "Inle Lake". Yesterday I had already written "Around Mandalay with Club Med", "Sleepless on the way to Kalaw" and "Trekking in Kalaw".

Maybe I should also add a general Myanmar-summary. Ah well, maybe if I find the time.
