Funny games in the middle of the night
When I went out last night I saw a large group of people, maybe 25, stand around in a circle. As far as I could see nothing was happening but it seemed so peculiar that I stopped a few meters away from them - I didn't want to disturb them - and waited. When eventually I found out what they were playing I couldn't believe my eyes!
I mean, you have to picture the scene: There are 25, maybe 30 people, all in their late teens or early twenties, some of them wearing Pyjamas, standing around in the middle of a street in the middle of Phnom Penh. And they are playing a game that in German is called – Flaschendrehen! I don’t know what you call it in English but I’m sure you have it as well. Basically you put a bottle in the middle of the circle and then spin it. And whoever the bottle points to has to do something. I found it was absolutely hilarious to see it played in the middle of a street at night.
Current comments:
We call it, if you can believe it: "Spin the Bottle"
Crazy, I know. Americans are so funny sometimes with naming stuff.
