Splendour in the Grass

I'm just recovering from two days of "Splendour in the Grass", a massive music festival that was held in Byron Bay over the weekend. In the beginning I wasn't sure whether I should dish out the 130 AUD for a weekend pass (including a pizza), but in the end I figured: I haven't had pizza in ages!

The pizza was very good, btw; a gigantic Hawaii. I still don't really understand why the pizza came with the ticket, but who cares. And Splendour was even better than the pizza. Fortunately we were also lucky with the weather - the rain stopped on th enight before the festival. So it was all good.

I don't really know much about Aussie music, so I didn't know what to expect from a lot of bands I saw. But I liked most of them. My favourites: Xavier Rudd, Spiderbait and Pete Murray - they were really good. There was also some pretty good Hip Hop, but unfortunately I forgot the guys names.

But it wasn't just the music: There was also a really nice and good atmosphere at Splendour. I met loads of nice people and generally had a good time. At some point during Pete Murrays performance I got a wee case of "singel's blues" (can't these people hug and kiss at home?) but I met a pretty cool girl shortly thereafter and quickly felt loved again :-).
