Pub Golf
The problem with Antigua is that it is always someones last night. And of course that means that you have to go out. And that you have to toast them. And then you also have to toast all those people whom have left earlier and who are not with us anymore ("Out of sight out of mind" doesn't apply here). For his last night Tom, who left this morning, added a new, playful variant to this merry tradition: Pub Golf.
So what is Pub Golf? It's really simple:
You choose nine bars, i.e. nine holes that you are gonna play. Preferably these should be close together.
Then you visit one bar after the other (you guessed that much, didn't you)?
In each bar you have a drink. But you only have 15 minutes to finish your drink.
You get points according to what you drink in each bar.
Our scoring system was:
- Shot: 1 point
- Mixed drink (Vodka Orange, Cuba Libre): 2 points
- Beer: 3 points
- Softdrink: 4 points
If you don't manage to finish your drink in time you get 5 penalty points.
There are more complicated versions (simply search for Pub Golf on Google if you want to) but this was enough for us.
Anyhow. You can see where this leads. I had a score of 23 by the end of the evening which might explain why I feel a bit woozy today. But you know who won? The two underage Americans Julie (17) and Dave (18) who shared the victory with a perfect score of 9 points. I'm too old for this. Actually I'm gonna put in a few white days.
